Corrections & Technical Feedback Policy
Because off-grid solar guidance directly involves high-current electrical safety and equipment investments, we maintain a strict, transparent errata review and public correction process.
Our Quality & Accuracy Commitment
At OffGridSolarCalc, we strive for rigorous mathematical and technical accuracy across every calculator tool, wire gauge table, and educational guide. When errors occur—whether a typographical calculation typo, an outdated equipment datasheet specification, or an updated electrical code revision—we promptly investigate, correct, and transparently document the change.
We do not quietly overwrite substantive technical errors. Substantive corrections to formulas, safety thresholds, or hardware specifications are recorded in our public errata log below with the date of resolution and technical rationale.
How to Submit an Error Report or Technical Correction
We actively welcome feedback from solar installers, electrical engineers, researchers, and DIY system builders. To help our editorial team quickly evaluate and verify your submission, please provide the following information:
Identify the Exact URL & Claim
Provide the page URL and quote the exact sentence, formula, table row, or calculator output you believe is in error.
Provide Authoritative Supporting Evidence
Cite the specific reference supporting the correction: manufacturer engineering datasheet (with model and page number), relevant National Electrical Code (NEC / NFPA 70) Article, or peer-reviewed research dataset (PVGIS, NREL).
State the Suggested Correction
Explain the correct formula, adjusted numerical value, or more precise technical wording required.
Submit Your Errata Report Directly
Send technical feedback and source corrections to our editorial inbox:

Typical review response time: 48 to 72 business hours. All valid corrections are credited in the change log unless anonymity is requested.
Public Corrections & Errata Log
This public register documents technical revisions, corrected formulas, and wording updates implemented across the site:
| Date | Affected Page / Section | Original State | Correction Applied & Rationale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sept 26, 2026 | Universal Header & Site Architecture | Navigation lacked direct access to calculation formulas, sources, and correction procedures. | Resolved Published standalone /methodology/, /sources/, and /corrections/ portals in primary navigation. |
| Sept 26, 2026 | Blog Theme (single.php) |
Displayed ambiguous badge "🛡️ Verified Standards" and repetitive promotional CTA. | Resolved Retired ambiguous badge; replaced with transparent "📖 Technical Source Check" badge linking to /sources/ with explicit disclaimer that calculations reflect author literature checks and not independent engineering certification. |
| August 28, 2026 | Solar Lab — Quick Design Formulas | Displayed ad-metric placeholder card (CTR formula) erroneously under charge controller sizing. | Resolved Replaced with authentic NEC continuous charging current formula: $I_{ctrl} = (P_{panel} \div V_{system}) \times 1.25$. |
| August 25, 2026 | Homepage & Legal Notices | Blanket privacy statement claimed "zero data collection", contradicting standard analytics cookies disclosures. | Resolved Clarified that calculator inputs run 100% locally on-device while standard web analytics follow published Privacy Policy. |
